Also known as peer on peer sexual abuse, this course provides rigorous understanding of the dynamics involved in harmful sexual behaviour between children, giving you practical tools on how to handle both the child receiving abuse as well as the abuser and their home situation to protect everyone who needs it.

We’ll provide a clear overview of Healthy Sexual development, along with common types of Harmful Sexual Behaviour, the role of consent, and peer-on-peer sexual abuse.
Recognise Harmful Sexual Behaviour
Learn how to distinguish healthy, age–expected behaviours from those that could be harmful and raise concern.

Beginning-to-end disclosure

This course aims to provide you with the most up-to-date knowledge of child protection procedures. You will learn how to accurately identify signs of maltreatment and report any concerns without delay. It also covers the referral process and what you can expect after a referral has been made, all the way through the different pathways that can occur.
By learning how to properly record concerns about abuse and neglect, understand the safeguarding framework, and recognize risks, trainees will feel more confident and relaxed in following internal procedures, display more resilience in the event of a referral, and provide a higher level of protection to all the children in your care.

Real world responses
Our dialogue led tasks are created to specifically address common themes drawing on our own personal experience to reflect the kind of dynamics you are likely to encounter in real scenarios.
Effective online reportingWe’ll discuss the importance of record keeping and evidence in protecting children from trauma and abuse and show you how to apply best practice when using CPOMS or equivalent online recording systems. We’ll consider a range of real report models, talking specifically around what information can end up missing and needs to be added.
Current legislation and real world examples
We’ll get you up to speed on the key legislation and framework that underpins safeguarding practice in the UK at present. We’ll also look closely at how you can recognise the practise from serious case reviews and wider research.
What to look for
We’ll help you identify signs of maltreatment and vulnerabilities, and evaluate specific risk factors.

Attachment theory
Min full day, max three days
The aim of this course is to deepen staff understanding of attachment theory and its relevance to children’s development, behaviour, and learning.
Scaleable from one to three days, participants will explore the impact of different attachment styles on emotional and social outcomes, and gain practical strategies to support children affected by insecure attachments.
The course draws on the latest research, psychological theories, and our own real-world experiences to enhance staff competency in fostering secure relationships and creating a supportive educational environment, and ensure they feel equipped to apply what they’ve learned directly in their work right away.
